Therapeutic Connection

EQuus Insight began as Horse Assisted Coaching and Therapeutic Collaboration with Residential Treatment Centers. Over the many years we have been assisting our community, we have also taken on non-horse coaches. One never knows when a heartfelt connection will be made, or with who; sometimes a chicken offers exactly what is needed.

Millie

Miss Millie shows off her best Self when visitors appear

Amelia and Douglas have formed a new relationship. She was soaking wet this morning after her groom from Douglas. Now she follows him everywhere.

Things Are Going To Be Ok

The last couple of years have been interesting. We can each make a list of what events personally touched us, our family, our community, the world.

Spring is in the air. It's a time for reflection, renewal, change. We can sense it. We are ready to create a new list for our futures.

In a quiet little corner of Washoe Valley in Northern Nevada, under the shadow of the Eastern Sierras, is a peaceful place called Sunflower Sanctuary. Among the inhabitants are teachers of EQuusInsight: Joey, Gus, Douglas, Sweet Pea, Shirley, Dancer, Stella, Boo, and wise old Buttercup. They are only a few of the 4-Leggeds (horses, donkey, goats, llama, dogs) and chickens that you will meet there. And, if you are fortunate, you may also get a chance to see wild horses in the adjacent Scripps Wildlife Sanctuary, or spot a hawk or eagle soaring through the vast blue sky.

And then there are the amazing human teachers, Melinda and Fran. Together they bring their education, expertise, and passion for humanity to the paddock with 2 and 4 leggeds to facilitate change.

EQuusInsight is a sanctuary for transformational experiences given through the healing power of animals.

A place to nurture insight, mindfulness, self-leadership, and joy.

Interested? Go to EQuusInsight to see what events are planned for your future. Or if you would like to create a session for yourself, your family, community, or corporate group contact Melinda or Fran via the link above.

What do Computers and Horses have in Common?

Absolutely nothing!  Which was exactly the idea when Chris came to visit Melinda at Equus Insight.  Get Away.  Yes, this will do!

IMG_8362

Just the natural surroundings and the cold temperatures were enough to shock the system of a ‘mouse potato’ like Chris.  Then, put a halter in her hands … a what? … and she knows she’s gone thru the rabbit hole into a different dimension.

What in the world am I supposed to do with this? Is Buttercup laughing at me?

It’s not about ‘showing them who’s boss’ – it’s about building trust.  Now, that’s a lesson for all aspects of relationships!

If only I could get my computer to trust me!
